FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    • Fishing charter rates are based on (3) persons, but can allow up to (4) persons. Groups of (3) or less make for the best experience.

    • For larger fishing groups, a second boat can be arranged. Inquire when booking.

    • Beginners, novice and seasoned anglers are all welcome.

    • Up to (6) persons can be accommodated for Eco Tours and Beach Trips.

    • Children are always welcome. Parents, please assess your child's comfort and ability level.

    • Children's life jackets can often be loaned from the local Sea Tow. It is best to bring their own.

    • Most special needs can be accommodated. Please inquire when booking.

    • Sun protection: long sleeves (breathable fishing shirt), hat, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen lotion (please no spray lotions)

    • Snacks and your choice of beverages. Lunch, unless planning to dine by boat.

    • Deck or tennis shoes with non-skid soles

    • Rain jacket or wind breaker

    • Camera to capture the memories!

  • Departure times and locations can vary and are tailored to your specific charter. All arrival information and departure time will be discussed and confirmed prior to day of charter.

  • Southwest Florida offers excellent fishing opportunities year-round, but the best time to fish can depend on the species you're targeting and your preferences for weather and crowd levels.

    • Spring (March to May): Spring is one of the best times for fishing in Southwest Florida. As the waters warm, species like snook, redfish, and spotted sea trout become more active. Tarpon also start to migrate into the area, providing exciting opportunities for anglers. The weather is generally pleasant, with mild temperatures and lower humidity.

    • Summer (June to August): Summer is prime time for tarpon fishing, as the famous "Silver King" migrates through the area. While the temperatures can be hot and humid, early morning or late afternoon trips can offer more comfortable conditions. Offshore fishing for species like grouper and snapper is also excellent during the summer months.

    • Fall (September to November): Fall is a great time to target redfish, as they begin to school up for their spawning season. Snook and trout are also active as they move from their summer haunts. The weather starts to cool down, making it a comfortable time to be on the water.

    • Winter (December to February): While some species slow down in winter, Southwest Florida still offers good fishing. Sheepshead, flounder, and pompano are popular targets during these months. The cooler weather can be a nice change of pace, and the waters are generally less crowded.

    • Cancellations 7 days or less prior to charter and no-shows will forfeit deposit.

    • Captain cancellations due to inclement weather or boat issues will be refunded in full.

    • Weather cancellations are at the sole discretion of the captain.

    • Trips cancelled due to inclement weather will make every effort to be rescheduled.

  • Maybe. Stewardship and protection of our natural resources is one of our core values and will ensure future generations can enjoy good fishing. Many of our prized game fish species are catch-and-release only by law or are strictly regulated. Our charters are primarily catch-and-release, with the exception of a few table fare species. If the goal of your charter is to freeze fish, we’re glad to recommend an outfitter to you.

  • The length of the boat ride to the fishing grounds can vary depending on where we are fishing on a given day. However, since we primarily fish inshore, in the harbor, or along the beaches, the ride is typically short. Most of our trips reach the fishing spots within 10 to 30 minutes. Our proximity to the fishing areas allows us to maximize your time spent fishing rather than traveling. If you have time constraints or questions about the day's itinerary, please discuss with Captain Mike when booking.

  • It's very unlikely that you'll experience seasickness, as we primarily fish inshore and within the harbor where the waters range from calm to lightly choppy. However, if you have concerns about seasickness or are prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking precautions to ensure a comfortable experience. You might consider taking an over-the-counter remedy such as Dramamine or wearing acupressure wristbands designed to help prevent motion sickness. If you're unsure, it's always best to consult with your doctor before the trip. Our goal is for you to have a fun and enjoyable fishing experience, so please let us know if you have any specific concerns, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

    • Rod holders are outfitted with high quality Reaper Rods, Shimano reels, Cortland Line, and Skyline Jigs terminal tackle.

    • All trips are aboard a 22-foot Shearwater bay boat. Comfortable for crossing big water safely while staying dry. Drafts shallow enough to access back bays and remote flats.

    • Dry storage and space for you to bring small cooler if desired.

    • Equipped with a Suzuki outboard, multiple live-wells, structure scan, Power-Pole shallow water anchor, Minn Kota wireless trolling motor, and Turtlebox bluetooth speaker to play your favorite tunes.
